The B&I Public Market Place is a sponsor of the North American Eagle™; a world land speed record challenger jet car project. Based in Spanaway, WA for the past 11 years, co-owners Ed Shadle & Keith Zanghi have modified an F-104 Starfighter aircraft fuselage to run on the ground. Using the same powerplant which propelled it to over mach 2 when it flew with wings, the North American Eagle™ will be using a "souped up" version of this same engine to set the record. The B&I Public Market Place has been a strong and enduring sponsor with advertising campaigns and project funds supporting test sessions over the past several years. The NAE™ Project has had three separate shows on the Discovery Channel in the past three years.

Team NAE™ is currently working on replacing the engine's afterburner with one which will produce more thrust power. Sometime this spring the team will travel south to conduct further mid-speed tests in preparation for an intended record run next fall..
